Henderson homes and what they need
Henderson's rentals are mostly standalone houses: weatherboard and brick-and-tile homes from the 1950s to the 1980s, plus newer townhouses and infill units on subdivided sections. Older homes here often need attention to underfloor insulation, ground moisture barriers and extractor fans to meet the Healthy Homes Standards, and many have big sections where lawns and gardens need a clear arrangement in the tenancy agreement.
Three-bedroom houses are the core of the market, with a median of $600 a week. Four-bedroom homes reached a median of $710, and the top quarter of three-bedroom houses leased for $660 or more, usually the renovated ones with heat pumps, a second toilet and off-street parking.
